Natural Remedies for Stretch Marks

As we get older as well as having a body that is in shape, many of us would like to maintain blemish free skin but this becomes increasingly difficult to achieve especially with the presence of inevitable wrinkles and stretch marks. Stretch marks are actually one of the most difficult skin conditions to get rid of and  many people have been researching what the most potent ingredients are on order to find a stretch mark solution and combat the irritant that are  stretch marks.

Treatments that many will consider are lotions and creams. There are some over-the-counter lotions and creams that promise to reduce the signs of stretch marks. However, some of these products are not concentrated enough to remove them completely. The majority of these products will act as a prevention mechanism but not as a complete cure.

Laser treatments for stretch marks can be effective, yet very expensive. Lasers are used to encourage the renewal of growth and formation of new collagen. New collagen rejuvenates and plumps up the skin tissues giving the appearance of fuller and fresher looking skin.

As mentioned before, although this treatment is effective, it can be excessively expensive and costly and may involve an investment of not only money but time as it may take a few sessions before you start to see an improvement of what the treatment has achieved. Due to this cost, many people have been seeking alternative methods to eradicate the problem and some of these are herbal and home remedies.

1. Vitamin K
Vitamin K is a very effective solution in removing stretch marks. Vitamin K is rich in some of our fruit and vegetable intake such as tomatoes, some vegetables and some dairy products.

2. Cocoa butter/ Shea butter
These are effective if used prior to giving birth. While you are still pregnant, massage lotions or creams containing cocoa or Shea butter. This can help in the prevention process

3. Lavender oil
One of the most useful of the essential oil family and it has many functions. The extract from the herb can help fade the marks.

4. Aloe Vera
This herb has a multitude of healing properties for the skin and is known as the wonder herb for skin. It can heal the skin from many skin diseases and is in many of our moisturising products.

Products that contain essential oils can be very effective. Oils such as Rosehip are a natural scar remover. Vitamin E is also a great alternative and also has the additional benefits of healing scars. The combined powers of these oils are great potentials to achieve maximum benefits and results for those looking for natural stretch mark solutions.

The key to reduction is consistency. Whatever treatment you decide upon has to be used regularly and consistently as there is no overnight solution to eliminate stretch marks. Laser treatments may be quicker but is not the only solution available for this problem. You can also find the answer in herbal and home remedies. The beauty of these natural skin products is that you can achieve great skin without parting with too much money and additional skin irritations.
